Engineers from Uzbekistan win an international energy competition

The engineering research groups ERG, which involves citizens of Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan, has been announced winner of an international competition held by the European Commission in the field of energy research.

Winners of the international Energy Globe Award competition on issues of global energy, environment and climate change will be awarded on 26 May 2008.

It should be noted that it's the first time when Uzbek citizens are being invited to European Parliament to get such an honorable prize.

"We are convinced that this scientific achievement will contribute to Uzbekistan's scientific and technological and economic development and will raise our country's prestige within the international community," the ERG group's scientists wrote.
